Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has become the latest celebrity to enter the billionaire club, becoming the first Indian celebrity to touch the milestone and stand with global icons like Michael Jordan, Taylor Swift, and George Lucas.

As per the Hurun India Rich List 2025, Shah Rukh Khan witnessed a sharp rise of 71% in his net worth this year to Rs 12,490 crore ($1.4 billion).

This significant surge is fueled by the blockbuster success of his production house Red Chillies Entertainment and the movie “Jawan,” which grossed over Rs 640 crore domestically.

His IPL team, Kolkata Knight Riders, also boosted his fortune with a brand value of Rs 942 crore.

But, Shah Rukh Khan isn’t the lone star shining in the billionaire galaxy of celebrities, as globally many celebrities have combined talent with strategic investments, endorsements, and entrepreneurial ventures to earn the marquee status.

Top 10 celebrity billionaires

1. Steven Spielberg ($7.1 billion)

Legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg tops the list of celebrity billionaires and is considered the wealthiest celebrity in the world. His fortune stems from decades of blockbuster movies, including classics like Jurassic Park, E.T., and Indiana Jones.

Spielberg also made his name and wealth though production as he ran Amblin Entertainment and co-founding DreamWorks Studios, which has produced numerous hits.

2. George Lucas ($5.5 billion)

George Lucas, the visionary creator of Star Wars, has made some great strategic business moves which earned him a net worth of whopping $5.5 billion.

His decision to sell Lucasfilm to Disney for over $4 billion proved immensely successful. Also, Lucas made a considerable amount of money from merchandising, licensing, and related media ventures tied to his iconic franchises.

3. Michael Jordan ($3.2 billion)

Widely regarded as the greatest basketball player of all time, Michael Jordan has amassed a staggering net worth of approximately $3.2 billion.

The majority of his wealth comes from endorsements and business ventures, particularly his iconic Air Jordan brand with Nike.

Jordan also earns from ownership stakes, including the Charlotte Hornets NBA team, and various investments in sports and entertainment.

4. Oprah Winfrey ($3 billion)

Media mogul and talk show icon, Oprah Winfrey ran a show for 25 years, which became a cultural phenomenon. She built a media empire with Harpo Productions, her cable network OWN, magazine ventures, and book clubs.

Winfrey has made several high-stakes investments in real estate and other businesses and also earns through her lasting legacy as a cultural and philanthropic powerhouse.

5. Jay-Z ($2.5 billion)

Jay-Z, the iconic rapper and entrepreneur, has a net worth of approximately $2.5 billion, making him one of the richest figures in the music and entertainment industry.

His wealth stems from a combination of music royalties, record sales, and touring, as well as strategic investments in business ventures such as Armand de Brignac champagne, D’Ussé cognac, Roc Nation, and stakes in Uber.

6. Kim Kardashian ($1.7 billion)

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian is also on the top-10 celebrity list as she successfully leveraged her popularity to build successful businesses.

She rose to fame through Keeping Up with the Kardashians and started ventures, include KKW Beauty, SKKN by Kim, and SKIMS, which are highly profitable shape wear brands.

7. Peter Jackson ($1.7 billion)

The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies are among the works that won immense popularity across the globe, and behind this cinematic brilliance is Peter Jackson, the acclaimed filmmaker from New Zealand.

Jackson co-founded Weta Digital and Weta Workshop, pioneering cutting-edge visual effects, props, and digital technology for films.

8. Taylor Swift ($1.6 billion)

Taylor Swift, the global music superstar, rose to fame with her country-pop hits and evolved into a global pop icon with albums like 1989, Reputation, and Midnights.

10. Shah Rukh Khan (1.4 billion)

Shah Rukh Khan (SRK), the “King of Bollywood,” has a net worth of approximately $1.4 billion, making him the richest actor in India.

His wealth comes from decades of successful films, ownership of Red Chillies Entertainment, and his IPL cricket team, Kolkata Knight Riders, which has an immense brand value.
