Major shifts hit tech, business, and geopolitics today. A widespread Cloudflare outage briefly took down some of the world’s biggest platforms, underscoring the web’s dependence on core infrastructure.

Anthropic locked in a massive Azure partnership to scale Claude, while Klarna reported strong revenue momentum despite slipping into the red.

And in Washington, President Trump hosted Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, sealing a major defense deal.

A glance at the major developments on Tuesday.

Cloudflare outage disrupts major platforms

Cloudflare ran into a major outage that started around 11:20 UTC on Tuesday and lasted a little over two hours.

Because Cloudflare is such a big part of how the internet runs, helping sites load quickly and stay protected, the downtime caused problems all over the web.

Huge platforms like X (formerly Twitter), ChatGPT, Spotify, and League of Legends were hit hard. People were getting all kinds of internal server errors and, in many cases, just couldn’t access the services at all.

Cloudflare later acknowledged the issue, and by about 14:30 UTC, everything was fully back online.

It was a pretty big reminder of how much of the internet quietly depends on infrastructure like Cloudflare to keep things running smoothly.

Anthropic strikes massive Azure deal

Anthropic just made a huge move by committing $30 billion to Microsoft Azure as part of a major partnership to scale up the Claude AI model.

To make this happen, Anthropic is buying up to a full gigawatt of compute on Azure, powered by NVIDIA’s new Grace Blackwell and Vera Rubin systems, which are built specifically for heavy AI workloads.

What makes this especially interesting is that it puts Claude in a unique spot: it becomes the only frontier-level AI model available on all three major cloud platforms.

On top of that, Microsoft and NVIDIA are also investing big, up to $5 billion and $10 billion into Anthropic.

The partnership goes beyond compute, too. Claude is being woven into Microsoft’s Copilot products, which should give enterprise customers a noticeable boost in AI-powered features and performance.

Overall, it’s a pretty significant step for both companies as they push deeper into the next wave of AI.

Trump seals major Saudi deal

President Donald Trump welcomed Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the White House with quite the show, including a military flyover to mark the occasion.

During the visit, Trump confirmed that the US will be selling 48 F-35 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia, a big-ticket deal the kingdom had been pushing for.

A lot of the meeting centered on business and security agreements, with Saudi Arabia promising major investments in the US. Trump sounded upbeat about strengthening ties and emphasized how important these defense and commercial deals are for both countries.

Klarna posts strong Q3 growth

Klarna had a strong showing in Q3 2025, with revenue jumping 26% year over year to $903 million, well ahead of what analysts were expecting.

A big part of that momentum came from the US, where gross merchandise volume shot up 43%.

Globally, GMV hit $32.7 billion, thanks in large part to growing use of the Klarna Card and the company’s Fair Financing products.

Even with the revenue beat, Klarna did report a net loss of $95 million. That’s a swing from the $12 million profit they posted a year earlier, mostly because they had to set aside more money for longer-term loans.

Still, the company sounds confident about what’s ahead: they’re expecting Q4 revenue to top $1 billion, driven by new products catching on and more merchants coming on board.
